Feldenkrais

Movinmind with Béné
"The aim of the Feldenkrais Method is a person that is organized to move with minimum effort and maximum efficiency, not through muscular strength, but through increased consciousness of how movement works."

ABOUT

About the Feldenkrais method

As we grow older, our way of moving gets stuck in habits (i.e: often accustomed to using one side more than the other, causing over-straining of the muscles on this side and “ignorance” on the other, etc... ).

The Feldenkrais method helps us gradually to get aware of those neuromuscular patterns and learn new ways of moving using the connections throughout our skeleton. It teaches us the means to take charge of our own improvement in increasing range of motion and improving flexibility and coordination.

Everyone can benefit from the method. It helps those experiencing chronic or acute pain of the back, neck, shoulders, hips, legs, or knees, as well as healthy individuals who wish to enhance their movement abilities in everyday life or activities such as sports, music, etc...

It can help you improve skills and overcome limitations brought on by stress, misuse, accident or illness.

The method can be practiced in two ways : a group class called Awareness through movement and 1-on-1 session called Functional integration.

For now I can offer Awareness through movement sessions.

"Movement is life.
Life is a process.
Improve the quality of the process and you improve the quality of life itself."
- Moshé Feldenkrais
Welcome for group classes

The group classes are called Awareness Through Movement, ATM. The teacher verbally describes specific movements and movement combinations for the student to follow and interpret without demonstrating or interfering with the student’s interpretation but definitely enabling it. These precisely structured movement explorations involve thinking, sensing, moving, feeling and imagining. By increasing awareness, you will learn to abandon habitual patterns of movement and develop new alternatives, resulting in improved flexibility and coordination.
